Attention Campers (and non-campers too)!!
Each year IPC organizes a campout on Father’s Day weekend (this year June 17th -19th). This tradition has been going on for over 45 years. It is a fun way to get to know each other better. We have gone to various campgrounds over the years and will be returning to Lakeside Beach State Park again this year. It is located at the end of the Ontario State Parkway, about 45 minutes from Irondequoit.
Each person/couple/family is responsible for making their own reservation for the weekend. This can be done by going to www.reserveamerica.com . If you click on the map of Lakeside you will want to scroll over to E, F and G loops, where pets are allowed. G loop is more open (less shade), which may appeal to some people, and F loop has more trees. Let’s try to reserve sites in the area of F26-F28 and G12-G17 so we are in the vicinity of each other. If you prefer a different site that is completely fine – you’ll know where to find us!
Non-campers are invited to join us at any point over the weekend (bring lawn chairs, games, etc). There is a minimal fee to enter the park for the day. Plan to stay for our potluck supper on Saturday around 5pm – you provide your own meat (or main dish) and beverages. Everyone is asked to bring a dish to pass (salad, side dish or dessert) – then we all eat together. And don’t forget your place settings! You may want to bring a jacket or blanket and stay for the campfire. We never lack for marshmallows, fixings for s’mores and other goodies! It is a nice, relaxing weekend full of fellowship so please plan to join us!
Make your reservations as soon as possible as things will start filling up quickly. If you have any questions, feel free to ask Jen Nicoletti, Kathy Thomas or Norma Carter.
