In recent months, the session of IPC has approved the use of memorial funds to purchase a variety of new products to upgrade some of our aging audiovisual equipment. The first of these purchases was a new Epson video projector to be used in church meetings, worship presentations, and other church events. The versatility and lightweight nature of this new projector allows easy portability and connection with a variety of computers and other devices. In addition, two new 50” x 67” Da-lite pull-down projection screens were purchased and installed in two meeting rooms on the main floor. These will provide a clean reflective surface for all projector presentations in those rooms.
With increasing use of multimedia presentations in both the sanctuary and in the social hall, a need for a more portable sound system was also explored. To help in this effort, one of our church members, Tracy Eckstrand, made a generous donation of her used portable PA system and speakers for this purpose. Thank you Tracy! With additional memorial funds, we were able to purchase a new wireless microphone system, two new PA speaker stands, a high quality wired Shure microphone and stand, a Bluetooth audio receiver to provide wireless audio connection between devices, and a variety of AV cables to work with these systems as well as our new video projector. This new equipment will now allow us to provide a much improved environment for all audiovisual presentations going forward.
All of these purchases were made possible through generous donations made to our Memorial Fund. Memorial funds often provide an important resource to enhance the life and activities of the church for items not always covered by our church budget. We thank all of those families and friends who have contributed generously to the IPC Memorial Fund to honor a loved one, and ask that we continue to keep this important fund in our thoughts and planning for the future.
