At Irondequoit Presbyterian Church music is an essential and enriching component of our worship and the community of our church. Kathy Thomas is the Music Director and heads the adult choir and Choir Chimes group. Our service also frequently includes various vocal and instrumental offerings.
The Irondequoit Presbyterian Church Choir
The Chancel Choir is a lively group composed of multi-generational voices that are a highlight of our service from September through June. The group meets weekly on Thursday nights for practice and fellowship from 7-8:30 p.m. They sing a variety of music, from gospel to classical, from traditional to contemporary. New voices are always welcome.
The Irondequoit Presbyterian Church Chimes Choir
The Chime Ringers is composed of anyone who would like to participate and performs several times a year at our worship services. The chimes are easy to learn and play, especially for someone who may not read music. The chimes offer everyone the opportunity to participate in the musical life of the church, even you.
Irondequoit Presbyterian Church is very fortunate to have a musically talented congregation. Members and friends of the church frequently work with Kathy Thomas, the Music Director, to prepare solos, duets and ensembles. Special music could be a young person playing his trumpet, or a husband and wife singing an uplifting and touching song together. At Easter-time we often have a 20-plus instrumental ensemble play an original composition, or a Christmas group of similar size plays an original or traditional piece. Other opportunities arise through-out the year in combining with other church choirs and instrumentalists for ecumenical services, fund-raising concerts, and celebration during special seasons of the year.
