As the congregation of IPC embarks on Phase 3 of their mission development plan—branching out to serve, a key piece of that mission revolves around the theme of justice. Throughout its history, the ability of the church to practice justice has determined whether the values of God advance or decline. When Christians are practicing justice, they show that God is loving and powerful to work against some of the strongest forces of hate in the world. When the church is weak, complacent, or engaging in injustice, God is made to look more like a personal crutch for the weak and the immoral. And who can blame the world for this perception?
The Saturday after MLK day, 1/23/16, one discussion group will begin and continue for 6 weeks. The curriculum and theme is “Loving Justice” – Part II. Our group is led by Dave and Tracy Eckstrand, and will meet at 10:30 AM on Saturday mornings at various group members’ homes. Coffee, juice, as well as coffee cake, bagels, and donuts are provided at every meeting.
